PHOTO CLEAN / PRIVACY

Privacy policy

Photos are personal. Here is what Photo Clean accesses, what stays on your device, and how you can manage your choices.

Updated September 10, 2026For the current Photo Clean iOS app and this website.
01

Scope and developer

Photo Clean is an iPhone photo organization tool developed and maintained by Eason Zhang. Contact the developer at the email below. The developer or seller name displayed by Apple is governed by the account details on that platform.

02

Photos and permissions

The app uses Apple PhotoKit to access photos you authorize, including thumbnails, photo identifiers, capture dates, dimensions, favorite status and Live Photo information. These support browsing, similarity analysis and cleanup. You can grant full or limited access.

Opening photo details may read existing camera metadata, filenames, file sizes and capture locations. Locations come from photo metadata; the app does not request or continuously track your live device location for this feature. Library features require photo access.

03

On-device processing and storage

Similarity analysis runs on your device. Photo Clean does not upload your photos, similarity results or review decisions to developer servers and provides no developer-hosted photo backup.

Photo identifiers, groups, review decisions and preferences are stored locally. Thumbnails are cached for browsing. Resetting review decisions clears those choices, not your original photos. Uninstalling removes local app data according to iOS behavior; device backup and restoration are controlled by your Apple settings.

04

Apple services and network access

When you request iCloud-only photos, photo details or Live Photos, PhotoKit may download the resources from Apple. Uploads, sync and backups by iCloud Photos are governed by your system settings and Apple services.

The photo location view uses Apple MapKit and may contact Apple to load a map. When you download apps through Apple or choose to share diagnostics with Apple, Apple handles that information under its privacy policy and your system settings.

05

Deletion and recovery

Adding a photo to the deletion queue is a local review decision. Actual deletion requires your explicit action and an iOS confirmation. Cancelling the system request does not perform that deletion.

Deleted photos are usually recoverable in Recently Deleted in Apple Photos until the system deadline. With iCloud Photos enabled, deletions sync to connected devices. Photo Clean cannot recover permanently deleted photos and does not retain a separate copy of them.

06

Contact and voluntary feedback

The app includes no ads, third-party analytics SDKs or cross-app tracking mechanism. When you email support, the developer receives your email address, message and any attachments to respond to the issue and improve the app. Please do not send unnecessary private photos, passwords or sensitive information.

Support information is retained only as long as needed to address the request, subject to any applicable legal retention obligations. You can ask to access, correct or delete feedback information you voluntarily supplied by emailing the developer.

07

This website

This website does not access your photos, offer accounts or include advertising trackers or third-party analytics scripts. Language links do not require tracking cookies. Hosting providers may process IP addresses, request times, browser information and necessary security logs to serve pages; this does not give them access to your photo library.

App Store, Apple documentation and email links lead to third-party services governed by their own policies.

08

Your choices

You can limit or revoke photo access in iOS settings and reset your review decisions in the app. Original photos are managed by Apple Photos; the developer cannot remotely access, delete or recover them.

Contact support with data questions. We may request necessary information to verify a request relates to you, but will not ask you to email your Apple account password.

09

Minors and updates

This product is not specifically directed at children and does not intentionally collect children's personal information. Minors should understand photo permissions and deletion with help from a guardian.

When features or data practices change, this page will be updated with a revision date. Where applicable law requires renewed consent, it will be obtained separately.
